And that is how I hope to inspire my students, with curiosity and interest that makes them lifelong language learners. I talk with so many adults who tell me how much they hated learning Spanish in Middle School or High School. And you know what? I didn’t love it either. It was boring. Tedious. I tested out of Spanish in college, but decided to take a class anyway. I had a great teacher who made it fun. And then I did a study abroad in Granada, Spain. In Granada I fell in love with Spanish, with the sounds, the words, the people, the music, and the food. I love speaking and listening to Spanish. I love teaching Spanish. I try to share this enthusiasm with my students so that they will be excited about learning Spanish.  I believe that by creating a positive foreign language learning experience at a young age students will be more likely to continue their language learning in high school, college and beyond. And who know where it might take them!
